I was back in my hometown of Wellington, New Zealand recently. While I was there I had a week to fill in between a couple of jobs, so my best mate Andy and I headed over the Rimutakas to the wonderful Wairarapa for a couple of days.  Castle Point is about 3 hours drive from New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, and is an isolated little paradise for surfers and anyone wanting to get away from the city.  It’s also paradise for a mad photographer like me.  I told Andy that I wanted to get away and go surfing for a couple days, but we both knew I would be spending far more time lugging my camera and gear around than riding waves (which were on form BTW).

Castlepoint is one of those places that restores the soul.  To get away for a couple of days with my brother, get out in the ocean, climb to the top of the highest mountain for miles, stay up late shooting stars, get up early shooting sunrise, all the while in the presence of the Creator, it doesn’t get any better.
